Available Housing

SDA has partnered with Better Living Solutions, a highly experienced NDIS-approved disability housing provider, to offer Supported Independent Living (SIL) through Home Modification and Specialist Disability Accommodation (SDA).

We develop homes that do more than offer accessibility they are designed to be flexible to be adapted to an individual’s specific needs. Our goal is to create inclusive and empowering environments where individuals with disabilities can thrive and live fulfilling lives.

Accomodation Types

Improved Liveability

This accommodation is designed for individuals with intellectual, cognitive, and sensory impairments. These residences include features such as luminance contrasts and tactile elements on walls and doors, making it easier for those with visual impairments to navigate the space comfortably.

Robust

Our robust housing is exceptionally resilient, crafted to ensure safety for individuals who may exhibit challenging behaviours, protecting both themselves and their support providers. These homes are also designed to minimise the need for frequent repairs.

Key building standards include secure windows, doors, and external areas, high-impact wall linings, robust fittings like blinds and door handles, soundproofing, and laminated glass. These features create sanctuaries for residents and carers, alike.

Fully Accessible

Our Fully Accessible housing provides high level physical support for individuals with significant functional impairments. This includes wheelchair-accessible passages throughout the home and accessible features allowing access to kitchen and laundry benchtops, and appliances from both seated and standing positions.

High Physical Support Category

Our High Physical Support housing meets all requirements of the Fully Accessible Design category and includes additional features such as structural provisions for ceiling hoists and doors with clear opening widths to all rooms. We also integrate assistive technologies like voice control for room temperature, TV, and door activation, along with emergency power solutions to sustain operations for a two-hour outage.

Indigenous Disability Support

SDA is committed to providing Indigenous disability support led by an Indigenous Advisory Board. This will ensure tailored facilities and care that prioritise cultural safety, recognise connection to country, and respect the cultural sensitivities, values, and needs of First Nation people living with disabilities.
